  Full of Hell released a great live album but so did Jarhead Fertilizer, the band of Dave Bland, the drummer of FoH. 'Product of My Environment' is a deathgrind journey into criminality and it’s perfect for these times.  Released in February on Closed Casket Activities, it’s an album that keeps getting better the more you listen to it. With its movie references and Mortician cover 'Drowned In Your Blood', David, Brandon, and Sam sound like they played their guts out. There is so much energy in every song that you really feel the need to go to a live show and bang your head on this. Just listen to 'Life Is A Prison', 'Silence The Narc', and 'Paranoia Seeping'.   It’s great when a band doesn’t take itself so seriously. Especially in the metal genre where the music sounds harsh, aggressive, and hellish, it's fresh when a death metal grunter starts to sing about puppies, and love, and other things that are…fun. Some definitions of fun could be unorthodox. How fun is it to get 'Dragged By A Truck', or to be force-fed your own dick? On the 28th Of August, progressive death metal band Wills Dissolve releases their second album 'Echoes' on Hypnotic Dirge Records.  Tracklist: 1. Echoes (31:36) With just one track that lasts half an hour the band from Houston, Texas takes you on a journey into the endless void of space. To name their record ' Echoes ' takes guts. Obviously, the band is hugely influenced by Pink Floyd and their masterpiece ' Echoes ' is unparalleled. However, Wills Dissolve pulls out all the stops. They paint a science fictional picture of a star-filled purple vortex. In the end, a giant black hole lurks, like the mouth of an all-devouring cosmic giant.   The story is about an astronaut who travels to the outer rims of space to find a new home for humanity. Thanks to Spotify Discover, I discovered the debut album  'Shrines Of Absurdity'  by New York-based technical death metal band Thaetas, r eleased on the 26th of June by Maggot Stomp Records.  And it is, without a doubt, death metal album of the year.   Tracklist: 1. If you can't hear what the musicians are actually doing, the record becomes merely a vague tremor in the air. Having said that, I understand that there are masterpieces/genres that thrive on shitty quality, Darkthrone's  'A Blaze In The Northern Sky'  for example, but with death metal, it's a different story. Social media always helps me to find great music. On the Facebook group, There’s No Good Metal Anymore they actually share some great metal albums. And I came across this one: French deathgrind/crust/hardcore band Pilori from France. Somewhere in the Sonoran desert, a man is walking wearing an old filthy cloak of old sheep wool, his face hidden in a cowl. That’s what came to mind when I saw this artwork. It’s made by Kieran Wakeman from Divine Art Chaos. It is unsettling, mysterious, raw and it fits perfectly with the music on the second album of the one-man project Light Dweller ‘Hominal’ . For years I’m really intrigued by the Polish artist Zdzislaw Beksínski. His paintings are otherworldly, immensely dark and utterly beautiful. They represent my inner world so perfectly it’s scary. So when I saw the album cover of the German death metal band Cosmovore I immediately knew I had to listen to it.  Tracklist: 1. Into the Necrosphere 2. Vessel 3. The Watchers 4. All-Devourer The band is shrouded in mystery, the internet doesn’t know who the band members are, how long they’ve been around or where they get their socks. Here’s what we do know: they’re from Augsburg, Bavaria and that’s pretty much it. Formed in 2015 as Maliblis, the four-piece band now known as Black Curse, brought out their debut album Endless Wound on Sepulchral Voice Records on April 2nd. With members from Blood Incantation, Spectral Voice, Primitive Man and Khemmis, you can expect nothing more than a curdling deep pool of boiling black magma. Tracklist: 1. Charnel Rift 2.
